By Nick Barbaro, 4:32PM, Wed. Jan. 30, 2008
The U.S. Men will try to continue their recent domination of rival Mexico – nine wins in the last 12 matches overall – this Wednesday at Houston's Reliant Stadium. Feb. 6, 8pm; tickets are $35-300 through Ticketmaster. Get more info at the U.S. Soccer website. The game will also be shown live on ESPN2 and Univision.
Arsenal and Manchester United, tied atop the English Premier League standings, have been drawn to face each other in the FA Cup Round of 16, Feb. 16 at Man U's Old Trafford, where the Reds have outscored opponents 31-3 this season. Luck of the draw, indeed; by contrast Liverpool, who had to come from behind twice to beat semi-pro Havant and Waterlooville in the previous round, drew second division strugglers Barnsley as their next opponent.
The USL Premier Development League schedule was announced this week; The Austin Aztex U23 open play May 3 at El Paso. See "Playing Through" for more; and view the whole schedule at the Aztex website.
